But here is the practical reality: These are maximum distances under ideal conditions. Pipe diameter, concrete slump, aggregate size, and the number of bends in the pipeline all affect actual performance. For most jobs, a conservative estimate is 70-80% of the maximum. A YG-40 rated for 120 meters vertical will reliably pump 90-100 meters in real-world conditions.  

When selecting a trailer-mounted concrete pump, you need to match the pump’s distance capability to your project’s requirements. Pumping too close to the maximum puts stress on the equipment and increases the risk of blockages. Leaving a 20-30% margin is standard practice.
