3 Common Solar Piling Methods: Which Is Best For Your Project?
There are three main construction methods for solar piling, each with different applicable scenarios and advantages. You can choose the most suitable method according to your project geology, pile type and construction requirements.
1. Drilling & Concrete Piling
This method first drills holes with a drill pipe, then pours concrete or presses precast concrete piles into the holes. It is suitable for projects with high bearing capacity requirements.
There are two specific construction schemes: one is drilling + high-frequency pile driver with excavator attachment, and the other is auger drilling with spiral drill pipe for soil, or DTH drilling with air compressor and impactor for rock layers. This method has high construction quality, but the process is relatively complicated and the construction period is longer.
2. Screw Pile Installation
This method uses the drill pipe to rotate the screw pile directly into the soil, which is the most commonly used construction method for solar projects. It is the same machine as the drilling model, just replace the corresponding drill tool.
This method has a fast construction speed and a simple process, and is suitable for most soil and soft rock geological conditions. According to the length of the pile, there are usually two models corresponding to 3-meter and 6-meter piles.
3. Ramming Metal Piles
This method uses a hydraulic hammer to ram U-shaped steel, H-shaped steel or wooden piles into the soil, which is suitable for projects that require high lateral bearing capacity.
